If you’ve been coming to One Happy Island and Sweet Peppers for years, you probably have your favorite nights of the week given our array of theme nights, whether it’s Monday’s Italian Night, Tuesday’s All-You-Can-Eat Grouper, Wednesday’s Karaoke Night, Friday’s Finger-Lickin’ Fish Night, or Sunday’s All-You-Can-Eat BBQ Ribs. Those are all fun nights to be sure, but Sweet Peppers can also be your go-to sports bar when there’s a big game on that everyone wants to see. And rumor has it there is a big game coming up…
Super Bowl 51 at Sweet Peppers
Super Bowl 51 is the National Football League (NFL) championship game, this year featuring the New England Patriots and the Atlanta Falcons. It’s an interesting match-up given that this is the NINTH Super Bowl appearance for the Patriots (the most ever of any team) while it’s only the second time in the big game for the Falcons (they lost to the Denver Broncos their first time around at Super Bowl 33 in 199).
The Patriots have been a hugely successful franchise in recent years. Of those nine Super Bowl appearances, seven of them have been under the leadership of head coach Bill Belichick and quarterback Tom Brady. Seems like a winning combination, doesn’t it?
Another Winning Combination: Sports Bar and BBQ Ribs
It just so happens that the Super Bowl is always played on a Sunday evening, and if you’re on One Happy Island this Sunday February 5, not only can you watch the Super Bowl and Sweet Peppers, you’ll also have the opportunity to take advantage of our usual Sunday All-You-Can-Eat BBQ Ribs special.
You may not know this, but there are quite a few people out there who think the BBQ ribs we serve up at Sweet Peppers are the best on the island! Our chef uses a special blend of seasonings that is a well-kept secret and then we top them with the best BBQ sauce you’ll find anywhere in the Caribbean – and it’s gluten-free to boot. We will have all our grills fired up and ready to go this Sunday, so however much you can eat (for just $23.95), we’ll keep ‘em coming! There is no excuse for walking away hungry on this special night!
And you’ll enjoy watching the Super Bowl on one of three screens – the flat-screen TV above the bar if that’s where want to hang out, a huge projector screen in the main part of the restaurant, and another huge projection screen out on the patio.
Super Bowl Halftime Headliner: Lady Gaga
Love her or hate her, one thing that’s true about Lady Gaga is this: She knows how to put on a spectacle! She performed the national anthem at last year’s Super Bowl 50 and confirmed she would perform this year using her Instagram account to say, “It’s not an illusion. The rumors are true. This year the SUPER BOWL goes GAGA!”
As you can see we’ve got all the makings for a great night this Sunday – all the good food you need, all the drinks you could want, and giant screens for watching the big game. And if you book your reservation online through our website, you’ll get a free glass of wine per person in your party!
